Some mornings call for something creamy, crisp and a little cinnamon-sweet. This apple cinnamon crunch Greek yogurt bowl brings those textures together without turning breakfast into a cooking project. Chop an apple, spoon out the yogurt and add a handful of crunchy toppings. You can be eating in about five minutes.

Fresh apple keeps this bowl bright and juicy, while cinnamon and a small drizzle of honey give it an apple-pie-inspired flavor. Granola and walnuts add the crunch. Everything comes together in one bowl, with no stove and no advance cooking.

Ingredients for an apple cinnamon Greek yogurt bowl with Greek yogurt, fresh apples, granola, walnuts, cinnamon, chia seeds, and honey.

How to Make It

  1. Spoon the Greek yogurt into a bowl. Stir in half the cinnamon and, if using, 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup.
  2. Wash, core and chop the apple. Scatter it over the yogurt.
  3. Add the granola and walnuts. Sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon.
  4. Taste and add the remaining teaspoon of sweetener if you want it sweeter. Eat right away while the granola is crisp.

Make It Your Own

Choose your apple: Use whichever apple you enjoy eating fresh. A sweet apple makes the bowl pleasant with little or no added honey; a tart apple gives it a sharper flavor. Leave the skin on for color and crunch, or peel it if you prefer.

Choose your yogurt: Plain whole-milk Greek yogurt gives a rich, creamy bowl. Low-fat or nonfat Greek yogurt also works. Vanilla Greek yogurt is an easy swap; taste before adding sweetener.

Swap the crunch: Pecans can replace walnuts. For a nut-free version, choose a nut-free granola and use pumpkin seeds instead of walnuts. If your granola is already quite sweet, you may not need honey.

Tiny Prep, Easier Mornings

Portion the yogurt and cinnamon into a covered container ahead of time and refrigerate according to the yogurt label. Keep granola and walnuts in a separate dry container. Chop the apple when you are ready to eat, then put everything together. Keeping the crunchy ingredients separate prevents them from softening in the yogurt.
